Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville women's basketball team picked up a big conference win on Saturday afternoon, placing the team firmly in the playoff picture.
Sophomore guard Sydney Alton had a big game for the Spartans on Saturday in the team's 73-61 win over the Mount Aloysius Mounties. Alton led D'Youville in scoring with a career 19 points to go with six rebounds, three assists, and no turnovers in 38 minutes of play. Sydney shot extremely well all over the court against the Mounties by going 6-11 from the field, 4-8 from three 3-4 from the line.
In 19 games this season, Alton is currently fifth on the team in scoring with 7.1 PPG and fifth in rebounding with 3.1 RPG. She has started all 19 games in 2018-19 and seven games of double-figure scoring - including 12 games of scoring five or more points.
As a freshman in 2017-18, was fifth on the team in scoring with 5.8 PPG and fourth with 4.1 RPG. Her 2.8 APG and 28.8 MPG led the team while she scored double-figures in five games.
Danielle Hore, Women's Basketball - Hore led the Spartans to their fifth conference win of the season with the incredible statline of 16 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. She currently leads the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and minutes per game. She is first in the AMCC is assists, tied for second in steals, third in rebounds, and sixth in points.
Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden, Men's Basketball - VanDuluitgaarden was the driving force for the men in their 75-63 victory over Mount Aloysius on Saturday. Jeremy led the team with 19 points and 16 rebounds to go with six blocks. He leads the AMCC in scoring and is fourth in rebounding.
