Buffalo, NY - Freshman Dan Busha of the D'Youville men's volleyball team has had an impressive start to his collegiate career, becoming a leader for the men on the offensive side of the ball.
On Friday, Dan tallied six kills against Nazareth and a team leading nine kills against Johnson & Wales in the opening day of the Golden Flyer Invite. He chipped in with four total digs and a block in the two matches against two tough opponents.
Then on Saturday, Busha again tallied two identical kill numbers in matches against UC Santa Cruz and Lasell. Dan tallied nine kills in the first match of the day with three digs against UC Santa Cruz and six kills, three digs, and two blocks against Lasell.
Through seven matches this season, Dan leads the team with 52 kills and 2.48 kills/set. He has registered at least six kills in every match this season and registered two digs in six of seven matches.
At St. Francis High School, Dan played volleyball, basketball, and ran track and field. In his three seasons on the men's volleyball team, Busha was his team's MVP and a First Team All-Catholic selection. He played club volleyball for Lockport Volleyball Club.
Dan is a Business Management major at D'Youville and the son of Donald and Jane Busha. Dan's older brother Chris was a four-year player for the men's volleyball program and graduated from D'Youville.
