Buffalo, NY - Sophomore middle hitter Carly Milleville set new career highs this past weekend for the Spartans at the North Country Classic and has been a key contributor for the women thus far in 2019.
Milleville began the weekend with eight kills and six digs against Brockport. In the second match of the day she tallied four kills with six digs and two blocks against St. Lawrence, adding a service ace during the first day of the North Country Classic at St. Lawrence and Clarkson.
Then on Saturday in the team's first match of the day against Wheaton, Carly had a career performance with her first career double-double with career highs in both kills (17) and digs (11). She then followed up with two kills and four digs in the second match of the day. Milleville leads the Spartans in kills, kills/set, and is third in digs.
So far in 2019, Carly leads the team in kills (39), kills/set (1.86), is third in digs (34), fourth in hitting percentage (.007), blocks/set (0.14), and service aces/set (0.10). Through six matches played, Milleville has tallied three matches of six or more kills and has four matches of six or more digs.
As a freshman for the women in 2018, Milleville was a strong contributor as well. She finished second on the team in kills (123), kills/set (1.50), fourth in hitting percentage (.024), and fifth in digs (88). Carly registered 14 matches of five or more kills and nine matches of five or more digs. She also played on the softball team at D'Youville.
At Niagara-Wheatfield High School, Milleville played two years of volleyball and two years of softball and was named a NFL Third Teal selection for softball. She played club sports for Niagara County Volleyball Club and the Wheatfield Nitro.
Carly is an Exercise and Sport Science/DPT major and the daughter of Bruce and Debra Milleville. Her twin sister Mikaela is also a member of the D'Youville women's volleyball team as well as a member of the softball team.
