Buffalo, NY - Following the conclusion of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference playoffs, five D'Youville Spartans have been named to their respective sports All-Tournament Teams.
Women's Soccer - Junior defender Magan Magee and junior goalkeeper Megan Dulniak both came up big for the Spartans in their pair of playoff games, each putting their team in position to earn a victory. In the AMCC quarter-finals against La Roche, Magee played a direct role in each goal for the Spartans. The first goal of the game came off a corner from Magan in which she curled the ball into the box and it went off a La Roche defender. Minutes later, Magee scored the eventual game winner in the 2-1 victory over the fifth seeded Redhawks. In that game, Dulniak recorded six saves and allowed one goal. However in the semi-finals against the top seeded Penn State-Behrend Lions, Dulniak more than quadrupled her save total. Megan saved a program record 28 shots, shutting out the Lions for a full 1:10:00. Her 28 saves are also a career high. The women would not advance to the finals as Behrend won 4-2 in a penalty kick shootout where Dulniak made a great save.
Men's Soccer - Junior defender Josh Hammer and freshman goalkeeper Kyle Dick had an outstanding effort in their first round game against the Medaille Mavericks. The team limited the third seeded Mavericks to no goals through 90 minutes of regulation as Medaille went on to fall 1-0 in overtime to the highest scoring team in the AMCC. Hammer was the heart of the team's defense and was crucial in stopping shots and attacks from getting through. In goal, Dick was outstanding. He came up with big save after big save on his was to recording a career high 13 saves.
Women's Volleyball - Senior Libero Alexandra Bubar recorded a team high 23 digs in the team's first round loss to the La Roche Redhawks. Bubar added four assists as she was the defensive linchpin for the Spartans against La Roche and throughout the playoffs.
