AMCC Announces 2017-18 Winter Sportsmanship Teams

Buffalo, NY - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) announced their Winter Sportsmanship teams on Monday to kick off Division III week.

Sophomore CeDrice Howard of the D'Youville women's basketball team and senior Steve Kunelius of the D'Youville men's basketball team were both named to the AMCC Winter Sportsmanship Teams for their respective sports. Each displayed class and sportsmanship throughout the season, on and off the court.

Howard has made a large impact in the D'Youville community as a sophomore. She has been a consistent and calming presence on the court, but she also is a leader in the community. She took part in the D'You Lead Program this past January and is an outstanding student.

Kunelius was one of three team captains this season for the men. Being the team's only senior, Steve set a great example of the team on and off the court. His leadership has helped younger teammates grow as athletes and people.

Voted upon by their teammates, each representative consistently demonstrates respect, a high level of ethical conduct and fair play during competitions. Their demeanor is an example for teammates and opponents and they carry that on and off the field. These student-athletes showed great sportsmanship towards fellow teammates, coaches, officials, fans and opponents.
