Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and fellow SAACs around the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) helped bring warm clothing for those in need this past February as part of their SAAC for Socks campaign.
D'Youville collected 200 items including socks, hats, gloves and scarves to donate for those in need. All of the items collected were donated to the Buffalo City Mission.
SAAC for Socks was an event put on by AMCC SAAC reps from the 10 member schools to come together to give back to each of their communities. Each school collected socks, hats, gloves and scarves to donate to a charity of their choice.
D'Youville softball SAAC representative and event organizer Ashley Carney was very thankful for the opportunity and pleased with the efforts from her peers at D'Youville and around the conference.
"It was a great experience for our small D'Youville community to come together and help so many people," said Carney. "More importantly, as a conference we were able to impact the lives of so many and that is what this was all about."
More information on what other schools around the conference did with their SAAC for Socks event can be found at the AMCC website.
