Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that the department will be putting on the D'Youville All-Sports Camp proudly Sponsored by the Ralph C. Wilson Legacy Funds this coming August.
Beginning Monday, August 5, members of the athletics staff will welcome in and work with children ages 9 to 15 from the City of Buffalo for four days to both the College Center and Dobson Field to expand skills in various sports, improve physical fitness, and promote an active lifestyle. In addition, the camp will focus on teaching the youth good health practices, acquainting them with career and educational opportunities by providing experienced personnel, and providing a safe environment to play, learn, and grow.
The camp is free to individuals from ages 9-15 that live in the City of Buffalo.
The staff of the event will consist of members of the D'Youville Department of Athletics and several D'Youville student-athletes. Sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football, softball, and others will be offered to campers as well as backyard games and educational programs about nutrition, personal health, and communication.
D'Youville has worked closely with the Ralph C. Wilson Legacy Funds to put forth the camp to benefit the disadvantaged youth of the West Side of Buffalo. The legacy funds were established by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo to support programs and initiatives on an annual basis that reflect the person passions of Ralph C. Wilson. The areas of support are: caregivers, community assets, design and access to youth sports.
The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation gets its name from former Buffalo Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. In 2015 the Foundation continued his legacy by beginning operations with the goal to continue Mr. Wilson's generosity and innovation, unshakeable community focus, and collaboration - all pillars of his legacy.
