Buffalo, NY – The D'Youville Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Bill Morris as the department's new Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance.
"We could not be more excited to have Bill joining our staff," said Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Ona Halladay. "Bill comes to us with a wealth of compliance knowledge as well experience with specific sport oversight. Bill is a team player and will work with the current staff to move our athletic department boldly forward."
Bill brings a great deal of experience to D'Youville from several Western New York institutions. For the previous five years, Morris has been the Associate/Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Division I Canisius College. Prior to Canisius, the Greenwood Lake, NY native served in a similar role as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Division I Niagara University during the 2014-15 academic year.
Before coming on at Niagara, Bill played a pivotal role at Daemen College in their application for NCAA Division II as their Director of Athletics. Throughout his time as a Wildcat, Morris led the department in introducing new athletic logos and helped increase corporate sponsorships with the department.
In his first stint at Niagara University from 2003-11, Bill severed as the Purple Eagle's Associate/Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Administration.
At D'Youville, Bill will be tasked in expanding the compliance aspect of the department, assisting coaches and student-athletes alike.
"Bill will primarily be responsible for all compliance matters in the department," said Halladay. "He will continue to build a robust compliance program for our coaches, student-athletes, and prospective student-athletes. He will also oversee sport programs as a direct report."
Not only does Morris bring Division I experience from Canisius, but he brings a pair of degrees from the college as well. Bill graduated with his degree in Marketing in 2000, then earning his Masters in Sports Administration in 2002. During his time at Niagara, Bill then earned his MBA in 2007.

While earning his undergraduate degree at Canisius, Morris played for the Golden Griffins' baseball program as a pitcher. Following his completion of his undergrad degree, he severed as a graduate assistant in the athletic department with his focus on compliance.
Morris lives in Lancaster, NY with his wife Jacqueline – a former Golden Griffin herself whom played softball at Canisius from 1997-00. The couple has two children, William III and Francesca.
