Travis Macrides joins the D'Youville baseball coaching staff as a graduate assistant following one of the best careers in D'Youville baseball program history.
Macrides finished his senior season season first on the Spartans in RBI (31), triples (3), home runs (4), stolen bases (7), and tied for first in runs scored (21). He was tied for second in doubles (7), third in batting average (.326), and hits (31).
By season's end, Travis set the program record for hits, doubles, RBI, RBI in a season, and total bases while ranking second in home runs. In 10 of the 28 games played as a senior, Macrides multiple RBI. He had 19 games with at least a hit and nine games of multiple hits and an 11-game hitting streak. He was named an AMCC Third Team All-Conference player at first base.
Travis was a starter throughout his career, including playing shortstop for the first three years of his career. He was consistently in the heart of the Spartan's lineup as someone that could hit for power and average.
In 2017 as a junior, Macrides led the team in RBI (18), tied for team lead in home runs (2) and batting average (.356), was second in stolen bases (3), tied for second in hits (37), tied for third in triples (1), and was fourth in walks (8). He recorded 10 multi-hit games. In 2016 he led team in stolen bases (7) and doubles (7), was second in batting average (.277), RBI (11), and runs (17) while as tied for second in hits (20) and third in walks (12). As a freshman in 2015, Travis led team in walks (16), was third in hits (20) and RBI (12), finished tied for third in runs (9), and was fourth in batting average (.238)
At career's end, Travis is one of if not the best player in the history of D'Youville baseball.
