Spartans Bow in Consolation Game of Hamilton Invitational
Clinton, NY- For the second time in as many days, D'Youville College sophomore guard Marcus Clarke (Olean, NY/Archbishop Walsh) poured in a game high total of twenty or more points. Today Clarke tossed in 25 points in the Spartan's 86-75 loss to Utica College in the consolation game of the Hamilton College Invitational.
Clarke was named to the All-Tournament Team after scoring 45 points in two games at the event.
Julian Reed (Cheektowaga, NY/Union Endicott) continued his strong play adding 12 points and 12 rebounds for his first career double-double. It was nearly a triple-double because Reed also had a career-high 8 blocked shots. Matt Insley (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) was strong again off the bench chipping in 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in 18 minutes of play.
There were many positives in the Spartan's performance. The second-half may have been the Spartan's best twenty minutes of the season. D'Youville scored 51 points and a late run cut the deficit to inside of double-digits and the team committed a season-low 9 turnovers in the for the game.

The Spartans will play their first game of the season on their home floor November 26 versus Fredonia State. Start time in the College Center Gym is 6:00 p.m. At the door, D'Youville Athletics will be accepting donations of personal care items (soap, shampoo, mouthwash, toothpaste) to benefit the Buffalo City Mission.
