Buffalo, NY - Senior guard Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden (Verona, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) led the men's basketball team to a 2-0 record this past week and was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week.
Beginning on Wednesday in the team's 97-88 win over Hilbert, Jeremy scored a career high 32 points with nine rebounds and five assists - all team highs. He played all 40 minutes in the game, shooting 65% from the field. Then on Saturday in the 72-69 come from behind victory over Franciscan, Jeremy scored 14 points with eight rebounds - both team highs.
The senior currently leads the the AMCC in scoring with 19.8 PPG and is fourth in the conference with 8.4 RPG. He has scored at least 14 points in every game this season.
Over his previous three seasons as a Spartan, Jeremy has been one of the team's best scorers. In each of the last two years, VanDuluitgaarden has averaged at least 14.0 PPG. This season, Jeremy has had a career year. He is averaging career highs in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.
At Vernon-Verona-Sherrill high school, Jeremy played four years of basketball and soccer. He was named an Oneida County All-Star in basketball and also played club basketball for the Syracuse Nets.
