Buffalo, NY - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) released their 2018-19 men's basketball all-conference team's on Tuesday afternoon with one Spartan placing amongst the conference's best.
Senior Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden (Verona, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) put together one of the best seasons in program history. Jeremy led the conference in scoring (18.5 PPG) and rebounding (10.6 RPG), numbers that increased during conference play. Leading the conference in scoring for nearly the entire season, VanDuluitgaarden scored in double-figures in 23 of 25 games this season. He scored 20-plus points in nine games and 30-plus points twice, including a pair of 32-point performances.
Around the basket and on the boards, VanDuluitgaarden grabbed double-figure rebounds in 11 games - all of which were double-doubles. He grabbed 15-plus rebounds in six games with one game of 19 rebounds and 23 of 25 games this season with at least seven boards. In the conference, VanDuluitgaarden finished the season first in scoring and rebounding, he was third in blocks/game, fourth in minutes/game, and eighth in FG%. He led the Spartans in scoring, rebounding, FG%, blocks, and was second in steals, assists, and minutes.
In his final career game in the first round of the AMCC playoffs, Jeremy became the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,358 points. He is also the all-time leader in rebounding (604), third in blocks (90), and sixth in assists (201).
At season and career's end, Jeremy is one of the best, if not the best, players in the conference and the D'Youville men's basketball program, from beginning to end. During his senior season he was named AMCC Player of the Week three times.
