Rosales Earns All-Tournament Honors in Loss to Battling Bishops

New York City, NY - The D'Youville men's basketball team ended their weekend in New York City with a 100-70 loss to the North Carolina Wesleyan Battling Bishops at Medgar Evers.

Wesleyan went ahead early over D'Youville as they led 9-4. Noah Denz (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) then hit a pair of free throws to make it a three-point game before the lead grew to 10 with seven minutes played in the first. The Bishops continued to pour it on as they capped off a 17-0 scoring run on a made three to lead 32-9.

Darrius Hartzog (Rochester, NY/Wilson Magnet) began to heat up the further the team went into the half as he scored eight of 10 points to bring the Spartan's point total to 21. Wesleyan would continue to be effective at both ends of the court as they led 51-32 halftime.

Grant Beyer (Williamsville, NY/St. Joe's) and Juan Miguel Rosales (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Village School) scored the first four points for the men in the second half as they battled to get a spark going on offense for the men. D'Youville would attempt to get back in the game, but the lead was too large for them to overcome as they fell to the Battling Bishops 100-70.
