Buffalo, NY - Sophomore guard Devon Darrell (Lockport, NY/Lockport) had an incredible week for the Spartans, helping lead them to three consecutive wins and was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Player of the Week.
Darrell began the week with six points and six assists in the team's 90-59 win over Pitt.-Bradford. He added a rebound and a steal in the team's conference victory of the season, playing 25 minutes.
Following up on Saturday against Franciscan, Devon scored a then career high 22 points on 63.6% shooting from the field with five rebounds and five assists in the 94-87 win. He also chipped in with five rebounds and three assists in the second consecutive win.
To close out his week of performances, Devon had a career game with a career high 24 points, tied a career high with 14 assists, and eight rebounds with three steals and two blocks on Monday in the 98-82 win over the then first place Pitt.-Greensburg Bobcats. Darrell went 10-14 from the field and 3-3 from three as he was the driving force behind the team's win.
The sophomore now ranks second in the conference in assists and is second on the Spartans in scoring and field goal percentage. He has scored in double-figures in nine of 13 games this season and has scored 20 or more three times.
