Men's Soccer Wins Third-Straight

West Seneca, NY (10/19/11)-D'Youville College defeated Morrisville State 2-1 in a hard fought non-conference men's soccer match. The win gives the Spartans their first three-match win streak in 12 years and highest win total for the program since 2000.

Neil Janes (Lee Center, NY/Rome Free Academy) opened the scoring with a successful penalty kick in the twenty-third minute and Josh Pfuntner (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) notched the winner forty-six seconds into the second-half. For Janes it was his second of the season and for Pfuntner his team leading sixth of the season. Ryan Camman (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) assisted on the Pfuntner tally and has points in the last three games along with Pfuntner.

D'Youville returns to AMCC play this Saturday (Oct. 22) when they face Franciscan University at Riverside High School (51 Ontario Street, Buffalo) starting at 6:00 p.m. It is the team's Senior Night and prior to the start of the contest fourth-year players Mark Wallenhorst (Forestville, NY/St. Francis) and Tom Barlow (Depew, NY/West Seneca Christian) will be honored.
