Men's Soccer Defeated on the Road

Edwardsville, PA- D'Youville ended their Pennsylvania road trip with a tough loss to Wilkes University. The Spartans took on Wilkes Sunday afternoon but were not able to end the Colonels' winning streak.

Sophomore Brett Matthews (Angola, NY/Lake Shore) was inserted as goalkeeper in the second half and was able to hold Wilkes scoreless for 42 minutes. Matthews faced seven shots on goal and was able to save all but one. Nick Johnson (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) forced the Wilkes' goalkeeper to make a great save in the second half, shutting out the Spartans to a 3-0 loss.

The Spartans look forward to their next game against visiting Buffalo State College on Saturday, September 21st at 7PM. The match will be played at the Spartans' home field at the Riverside Athletic Complex.
