Men's Soccer Edged on Senior night

Buffalo, NY-A Franciscan University goal in the 62nd minute put the damper on men's soccer Senior Night as the visitors came away with a 1-0 win.

The Spartans registered six shots in tonight's game, four of them on goal. Patrick Mann (Rochester, NY/Brighton) had a team-high two shots on target.

"We gave it everything tonight," said Head coach Brendan Murphy. "It was another great effort from this hard working group."

D'Youville goalkeeper Matt Smith (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) continued his fine play with five saves.

Before the start of the contest the team's four seniors playing in their final home match were honored: Smith, Matt Veronica (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), Sean Lauer (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville East), and Tyler Beach (Niagara, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield).

Next on the schedule for the Spartans is match at Hilbert College October 23 at 1:00 p.m.
