Men's Soccer Loses Close Game to Franciscan

Steubenville, OH - The D'Youville Men's Soccer Team lost their second straight game Saturday afternoon by the score of 1-0 to conference foe Franciscan.

The lone goal of the game was scored 25 minutes into the game by Franciscan to give them the 1-0 lead. No goals were scored in the second half as the Franciscan defense limited the D'Youville attack, despite allowing 6 shots on goal with 17 shots overall.

Freshman Daniel Tarbell (Clarence, NY/Clarence) led the team with 4 shots, while another freshman, Alf Johann Egge (Stavanger, Norway/Stavanger) led the team with 2 shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Brett Matthews (Angola, NY/Lake Shore) allowed 1 goal on 9 shots over the full 90 minutes.

D'Youville currently sits in 6th place of the AMCC Conference Standings. The top 6 teams in the conference make the playoffs.

The final game of the regular season for the D'Youville Men's Soccer Team is at 7pm on Tuesday, October 28th against conference rival Medaille. The game will be played at All-High Stadium.
