Fredonia's Offense too much for D'Youville in Loss

Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville men's soccer team was defeated at home on Tuesday evening by the visiting Fredonia Blue Devils by the final score of 7-0.

The Blue Devils were aggressive early and often in the game. They found the back of the net just 1:25 into the game for a 1-0 lead. Fredonia then added their second goal in the 7th minute and their third in the 14th minute for a 3-0 lead. With just over five minutes to go in the first half, the Blue Devils added their fourth goal. The two teams would go into the half with the same score of 4-0.

As they did to start the game, Fredonia put two goals in the D'Youville net early. Scoring two goals in the first 12 minutes of the half, the Blue Devils took a 6-0 lead. In the 81st minute, Fredonia added their last goal of the game for a 7-0 lead. Hunter Sherman (Lockport, NY/Lockport) had a quality shot on net in the final three minutes but it wasn't enough as the Spartans fell to Fredonia 7-0.

The team's two goalscoreres from last game, Sherman and Rehte Ru (Thailand Refugee Camp/Riverside) led the team in shots in the game. Peter Petruzzo (Clarence, NY/Clarence) and Corey Sikora (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore) split time in net.

The next game for the Spartans comes on Saturday, September 24th at La Roche. Saturday's game is the first game of the team's conference schedule.
