Buffalo, NY – The D'Youville men's soccer team was defeated by the Buffalo State Bengals on Friday evening by the final score of 3-0.
Buffalo State maintained possession for most of the first half, putting a lot of pressure on the Spartan defense. The Bengals scored their first goal of the game in the 33rd minute off a header from a corner. holding onto their lead for the remainder of the half and lead 1-0 after 45 minutes.
To begin the second half, Buffalo State doubled their lead after five minutes of play. The Bengals continued to bring wave after wave of attacks and eventually break through again in the 66th minute to make the score 3-0. Buffalo State would hang on to their three-goal lead and win the game, shutting out the Spartans.
Kyle Dick (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) made six saves in the game with William Anderson (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) coming in to make two saves of his own. Despite the constant pressure, the D'Youville defense played extremely well and had another strong outing.
The next game for D'Youville will come next Tuesday, September 18 as they host St. John Fisher at 7:00pm.
