Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville men's soccer team dropped their first conference game of the season on Wednesday evening, falling to the Medaille Mavericks 6-0.
Medaille struck in the 10th minute for their first goal of the game, putting the Spartans in a hole early. The Mavericks would start to control the ball and take control of the half, including their goal in the 31st minute to double their lead. Halftime would then come 14 minutes later with the Spartans trailing 2-0.
It was more of the same from the two teams in the second half, with Medaille adding goals in the 61st, 63rd, 75th, and 80th minutes. After the full 90 minutes, the Mavericks would win 6-0.
Brian Nwaekeke (Corona, CA/John F. Kennedy) recorded the lone shot for the Spartans in the game. Kyle Dick (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) made five saves in the contest with William Anderson (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) tallying three.
The next game for the men comes this Saturday, October 6 as they host Pitt.-Greensburg at 4:15pm.
