Spartans Stay Near Top of Conference After Game against Mounties

Buffalo, NY – The D'Youville men's soccer team suffered a loss to the undefeated Mount Aloysius Mounties on Saturday afternoon by the final score of 6-0.

Mount Aloysius was able to strike within the first eight minutes of play in the game to make the score 1-0. They would then add their second goal of the game in the 26th minute to put the Spartans in a hole. D'Youville was unable to get anything going on offense for the remainder of the half as they trailed after 45 minutes 2-0.

Within the first 15 minutes of the half, the Mounties tacked on three additional goals in the 51st, 57th, and 58th minutes. They would add another goal a few minutes later in the 65th minute to clinch their 6-0 victory.

William Anderson (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) made 15 saves in his first career start while Jared Zadzilka (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) recoded the lone shot in the game for the Spartans.

The next game for the men will come next Saturday as they play at Franciscan at 3:15pm.
