Buffalo, NY - Heading into the final week of the season, Wednesday's game between the visiting Pitt.-Bradford Panthers and the D'Youville men's soccer team has significant playoff ramifications and has been named the AMCC Game of the Week.

The D'Youville men's soccer team comes into the AMCC Game of the Week with a 3-4 conference record and in the thick of the playoff mix. In their last two wins, the Spartans have outscored their opponents by the total score of 13-1 and have a 15-1 goal advantage in their three conference wins. The team's three captains have been at the heart of the team's success with Marco Ciccarelli (Rochester, NY/Webster-Schroeder), Nick Dumond (Lockport, NY/Starpoint), and AJ Wade (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) leading the way.

Ciccarelli and Dumond are the top two point producers on D'Youville this season with forward Hunter Sherman (Lockport, NY/Lockport) - who has been out due to injury. Dumond leads the team with six goals and 15 points while Ciccarelli is tied for second on the team with Sherman for five goals and is tied for the team lead in assists with Dumond at three, totaling 13 points. In the back, Wade is part of mostly veteran group in the back with juniors Matt Davis (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) and Jake Kowalewski (Attica, NY/Attica) joining him on the back line and junior Kyle Dick (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) in goal.

Mwibeleca Tumba (Congo/Fraternity Institute) has been outstanding in his first season as a Spartan as he has matched Ciccarelli's goal, assist, and point totals as he adds another scoring threat. Freshmen Tiago Salles (Porto Allegre, Brazil/Colegio Anchieta), Chris Irakoze (Caen, France/Middle Early College), Noah Steele (Heuvelton, NY/Heuvelton), and HsaKlo Moo (Riverside, NY/McKinley) have all made major impacts on the team as the four have started nearly every game with seven goals and two assists combined between the foursome.

Khaled Numan-Ali (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) has come on strong as of late with a pair of goals in their last three games. In addition, Sean O'Connor (Tonawanda, NY/Canisius) has seen increased playing time and has been an important young piece to the team.

Through their five games this month, the Panthers are 3-2. They have not surrendered a goal in their three wins as they have outscored their opponents 14-0. They are currently the fifth team in the AMCC with the Spartans hot on their tails in the sixth seed.

The Spartans and Panthers have had a strong series of battles over the last three seasons as they sit at 1-1-1. Last year D'Youville got the best of Bradford with a 4-0 victory on the road. Sherman bagged a pair of goals for the men with Kowalewski adding a pair of assists in the win. Dick added six saves in the shutouts.

Only two games remain in the regular season beyond Wednesday's AMCC Game of the Week. The Spartans will be away this coming weekend and return home for senior night against Alfred State on Tuesday, October 29.
