Stephen Weiss Selected to Lead Men's Tennis Program

Buffalo NY-D'Youville College Director of Athletics Brian Cavanaugh is pleased to announce the hiring of Stephen Weiss as the new Head Coach of men's tennis.

A former collegiate student-athlete, Weiss began his tennis career at Cobleskill State. The Tigers were a last place winless program before Weiss' arrival and he keyed the program's turnaround to a four-place finish at regionals  Weiss was the Region III Junior College Player of the Year after his freshman season and was a two-time All-Conference selection.

From there, Weiss moved on to play at the University of Charleston (WV), an NCAA Division II program, and would graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Sport Administration.

The Amherst, New York resident also works at Miller Tennis Center as a Court Coordinator and Tennis Instructor. The award winning facility also serves as the Spartan's home venue.

"I'm excited at the opportunity to be a Head Coach," said the Spartan's newest staff addition. "I am passionate about the sport and I want to bring that enthusiasm to this program."

The 2014 season opener is February 20 versus Daemen College at Miller Tennis Center.
