Men's Tennis Beats Mt. Aloysius 7-2 on Senior Night

Williamsville, NY-Men's tennis began their busy weekend with a win at home, defeating Mount Aloysius 7-2 on Senior Night.

The Spartans' two outgoing seniors played huge parts in the win. Robert Amabile (Elma, NY/Iroquois) teamed with Wei Yen Huang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Washington Academy, DE) to win 8-2 in first doubles. Amabile would later go on to capture his match in #2 singles 6-0, 6-0.

James Moran (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) triumphed in the #6 singles match 6-0, 6-3.

Huang took the #1 singles match 6-1, 6-1 and improved to 5-2 in individual play this season.

The second doubles team of John Nazzaett (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) and Mateusz Ruszkiewicz (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) were victorious 8-5. Ruszkiewicz then went on to win 6-2, 6-3 in #3 singles.

Freshman Collin McMahon (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) went from the volleyball court to the tennis court and took his debut match 6-1, 6-3 in #5 singles.

This was the start to packed weekend of AMCC tennis competition for the Spartans. Tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. (April 12) D'Youville plays at Penn State Altoona. April 13 the Spartans close the weekend at Pitt-Greensburg for a 9:00 a.m. match.

D'Youville is now 1-2 in AMCC play, 2-6 overall.
