New Paltz, N.Y.-Men's volleyball split their United Volleyball Conference matches played at SUNY New Paltz.
In the Spartan's first tilt of the day, the red and white gave ninth-ranked NYU all they could handle in a three-set loss. Only six points separated the two teams. Game scores were 25-23, 27-25, and 25-23.
Chris Krueger (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) had a team-high 12 kills followed by Chris Temple (Highwood, IL/Highland Park) with 9 kills. Alex Johnson (Clarence, NY/Clarence) and Jay Senozetnik(Eden, NY/Eden) each tallied a team-high 7 digs. Senozetnik led the Spartans with 26 assists.
D'Youville got back to .500 with a four-set win over Bard College. The Spartans won the first two 25-17 and 25-19, dropped the third 27-25, and took the fourth 25-13.
Krueger was the top scorer with a match-high 16 kills. Senoztnik dished a match-high 40 assists. Adam Dean (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) had 8 kills and match-high 4 blocks and Andrew Reinhardt (Ridgeway, ONT/Crystal Beach-Ridgeway) added 8 kills.
D'Youville (9-9, 3-6 UVC) will play twelfth-ranked Vassar College at SUNY New Paltz tomorrow (Mar. 10) at 1:00 p.m.
