Men's Volleyball Loses Two Matches

Buffalo, NY-Men's volleyball saw their program record losing streak reach 16 with a four set loss to visiting Keuka College.

D'Youville dropped the first 25-23, then rebounded with a 25-19 second set win to even the match. The Spartans then lost the next two games 25-20 and 25-21.

Brett Cawthorn (West Seneca, NY/St. Francis) and Steve Goedtel (Eden, NY/Eden) each tallied 11 kills. Cawthorn made it a double-double with a career-high 14 digs. Evan Singer (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) added eight kills and attacked at a team-high .467 clip.

Chris Busha (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) made his long awaited debut at setter and dished 36 assists. Busha also had a career-high 13 digs

It was a back and forth match with the teams battling to 36 ties and 13 lead changes in the four sets played.

D'Youville opened the day with a three-set loss to #13 Medaille College. Alex Johnson (Lancaster, NY/Clarence) had a match-high 10 digs. Johnson also recorded 12 digs versus Keuka.

D'Youville hosts Cazenovia College tomorrow (March 16) at 1:00 p.m. in the College Center Gym. D'Youville beat Cazenovia 3-0 back on January 24 at the SUNYIT Invitational.
