Marcy, NY – The D'Youville men's volleyball team went 0-2 on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Wells College Express 3-0 and the Keuka Wolfpack 3-2.
Against Wells, the Spartans fell in three sets by the scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19. Senior Matt Loos (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) led the team with nine kills and tied Brett Cawthorn (West Seneca, NY/St. Francis) with two total blocks. Cawthorn had a team high nine digs. Alex Ritter (Pittsburgh, PA/Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) added eight kills. Brock Tetreault (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) had seven kills and two service aces.
In their second match of the day, Keuka and D'Youville went to five sets with the Wolfpack ultimately winning with the final scores of 25-19, 20-25, 26-24, 18-25 and 15-13. Tetreault recorded a career high 19 kills in the match. Cawthorn also recorded a career high with 19 digs. Chris Busha (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) led the team with 42 assists and added 14 digs. Loos had 12 kills while Ritter led the team with four total blocks, chipping in with 11 kills.
The men will look to get back in the win column on Sunday, March 13th at 2pm as they take on the host SUNYIT Wildcats.
