Volleyball Ends Season Taking Two of Three Over Weekend

Hamburg, NY – The D'Youville men's volleyball team split their final weekend of the regular season, defeating the Wilson Phoenix 3-0 and losing to the Penn State-Altoona Lions 3-2.

D'Youville won in straight sets in their first match of the day with the score of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-17.

Brock Tetreault (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) led the team with 10 kills, eight digs and four total blocks. Matt Loos (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) followed Tetreault with nine kills and three total blocks. Chris Busha (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) registered seven kills and four digs while Collin McMahon (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) with 29 assists.

The Spartans fell in their second match of the day to Penn State-Altoona in five sets, 22-25, 27-25, 23-25, 27-25 and 15-5.

Four Spartans reached double-digit kills in the match. Tetreault led the team again with 17 kills, followed by Busha's 13. Evan Singer (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) recorded 11 kills and Loos tallied 10 kills and had a team high seven total blocks. Ryan Kilijanski (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) had a team leading 10 digs while McMahon again led the team with 55 assists.
