Men's Volleyball Opens Season at St. John Fisher

Pittsford, NY – The D'Youville men's volleyball team opened their season at the St. John Fisher Tournament on Friday evening by falling to the Endicott Gulls 3-0 and defeating the Bard Raptors 3-0.

In the first match of the weekend, Endicott defeated D'Youville 25-12, 25-7, and 25-20. Zac Bochacki (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) and Pat Stroh (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) led the team with five kills each while Ali Khadra (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) added four in his first collegiate match. Ryan Kilijanski (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) led the team with a career high 17 assists with James Zeiger (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) leading the team with seven digs.

D'Youville bounced back in the second match of the day to grab their first win of the season over Bard with victories of 25-15, 25-14, and 25-15. Khadra led the team with 12 kills, followed by Stroh with seven. Bochacki and Logan Krass (Oswego, NY/Oswego) each had five kills and Karl Jauch (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) tallied four. Kilijanski had a team leading 24 assists and Zeiger again led the team with 17 digs.

James Oliver (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East), Mat Marzec (Amherst, NY/Williamsville North), and Danny Steck (Lancaster, NY/St. Francis) each made their team debuts on Friday for the Spartans.

The next match for the men will come on Saturday, January 20 as the men take on the host St. John Fisher Cardinals at 12:00pm to conclude their time in Pittsford.
