Moran, Men's Cross Country Team take Third in Opening Race

Grand Island, NY – The D'Youville men's cross country team had a solid start to their season Saturday morning, placing third in the Buffalo State Daniel Walker Invitational.

D'Youville finished third overall behind Daemen and Buffalo State at Beaver Island State Park on Grand Island. Newcomer Patrick Moran (Wheatfield, NY/Niagara County Community College) led the way for the Spartans finishing third overall with a time of 17:38.

Fellow newcomer Tylor Muscarella (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo Central) followed Moran with a 12th place finish and a time of 19:08 in the 5k. David Oswald (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) was not far behind Muscarella with a time of 19:42 and a 14th place finish.

Joseph Frailey (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island), Zach Bochacki (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West), Jevon Whittington (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts), John Whittington (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts), and Dominick Harris (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) each had strong outings for the men in their first race of the season.

The next race for the Spartans will come on Saturday, September 22 as they run at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
