Meghan Memorial Dominated by D'Youville, Moran

Hamburg, NY – The D'Youville men's cross country team took first place at the Meghan Memorial on Saturday morning and had three runners finish in the top 10.

Patrick Moran (Wheatfield, NY/Niagara CCC) was the top runner at the Meghan Memorial, finishing the 5k with a time of 17:37. Moran's time was nearly a full minute faster than the next closest runner.

Tylor Muscarella (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo Central) and David Oswald (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) came in strong as well with top-10 finishes. Muscarella came in with a time of 20:07 and Oswald was right on his heels with a time of 20:10. The two finished sixth and seventh respectively.

Zach Bochacki (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) had a very good race as he finished with a time of 20:40. Both Joseph Frailey (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) and Dalton Holthouse (Clymer, NY/Clymer) finished inside the top-20 as well. Bochacki was 10th overall with Frailey coming in 13th at 21:17 and Holthouse 15th at 21:35.

Continuing to run well was Simeon Heard (Rochester, NY/Charles Finney) as he completed the race in 23:24. Jevon Whittington (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts) and John Whittington (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts) competed extremely well as Jevon edged out his brother by one minute with a time of 23:44, butting John at 23:45.

Dominick Harris (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West), Edward Apen (East Aurora, NY/Home School), and Matthew Buttaggi (Penfield, NY/Webster-Schroeder) all were competitive with their times as well. Harris finished with a time of 24:54 as Apen clocked a time of 27:10 and Buttaggi came in at 27:55.

Each runner for the Spartans ran very hard as the team finished first overall ahead of Keuka, Hilbert, and Medaille.

The next race for the men comes next Saturday, October 13 as they run in the Cross Country only Championship. It is the final race before the AMCC Championship at the end of the month.
