Chili, NY - The D'Youville men's cross country team concluded their third invitational of the season as they ran their second 8k of the season at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Saturday.
D'Youville finished ahead of AMCC rivals Hilbert and Medaille and two spots behind Alfred State as they finish 16th overall.
Patrick Moran (Wheatfield, NY/Niagara CCC) had a record-setting day with a new school record in the 8k. The senior ran a time 27:26 to finish 35th overall. Earlier this season Moran set the school record in the 5k as he now owns both records.
Tylor Muscarella (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo Central) and Zach Bochacki (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) both finished with times under 36 minutes as they ran strong races. Muscarella ran the 8k finished with a time of 34:58 and Bochacki finished with a time of 35:19.
Dalton Holthouse (Clymer, NY/Clymer) and Edward Apen (East Aurora, NY/Home School) were the next series of runners to finish for the men with times of 37:06 and 38:02 respectively. Dominick Harris (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) and Matthew Buttaggi (Penfield, NY/Webster-Schroeder) rounded out the roster for the men on Saturday as Harris finished with a time of 42:59 and Buttaggi came in with a time of 47:07. Anthony Scallio (Elkridge, MD/Mt. St. Joseph) and David Oswald (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) also participated in the race.
The Spartans finished 16th out of 21 teams with over 250 runners for the men.
D'Youville will next race in a week as they will run in the Geneseo Invitational next week at Letchworth State Park.
