Hamburg, NY - The D'Youville men's cross country team took second overall the Meghan Memorial on Saturday morning behind several strong efforts from the men.
Patrick Moran (Sanborn, NY/NCCC) took first overall in the 5k with a time of 16:46, over two minutes better than the next registered runner. His pace helped lead the team to an average time of 19:58 - the fastest average time amongst all the participating teams.
David Oswald (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) took 5th in the race with a time of 19:49 as Dalton Holthouse (Clymer, NY/Clymer) took 7th by running a time of 20:49. Tylor Muscarella (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo Central) came in 10th as he ran a 21:04 and Zach Bochacki (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) came in with a time of 21:23.
Edward Apen (East Aurora, NY/Home School) completed the group of runners for the men that finished between 21 and 22 minutes as he ran the 5k in the time of 21:32. Dominick Harris (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West), Matthew Buttaggi (Penfield, NY/Webster-Schroeder), and Anthony Scallio (Elkridge, MD/Mt. St. Joseph) all performed well in the race on Saturday, helping push the Spartans to their second place finish.
The next race for the men will come in two weeks as they will run in the Cross Country only Championship - the final race before the AMCC Championship.
