Softball Splits at Pitt-Bradford

Bradford, PA-D'Youville softball salvaged a road split with a 4-0 game 2 win at Pitt-Bradford. The hottest three Spartan hitters each tallied three hits in the nightcap.

Shannon Sutton (Lykens, PA/Upper Dauphin) had 3 hits and 3 RBI. MacKenzie Kehlenbeck (Oakfield, NY/Oakfield-Alabama) also stayed hot with 3 hits in game 2. Courtney Clark (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) also had a 3 hits, 1 was a double.

Jessica Banning (Amherst, NY/Amherst) tossed a complete-game shutout and gave up just 5 hits for the win. 

D'Youville had 10 hits in the second game after just 3 in the first. The Spartans dropped the opener 3-0.

"We played an all-around game in the second, both offensively and defensively," said Spartan Head coach Angie Churchill. "It was good to come out with a split."

D'Youville is 9-9, 6-2 AMCC. The Spartans host Penn State Behrend tomorrow at 3 pm.
