Kalie McHenry Named AMCC Pitcher of the Week

Buffalo, NY-For the first time in her career, sophomore pitcher Kalie McHenry (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) has been named by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference as their softball Pitcher of the Week.

In two starts last week McHenry posted a 1-1 record, struck out nine in 15 innings pitched, and posted a 0.93 earned run average.

March 25 the Spartans closed their ten-game Florida trip with a 7-5 win over Concordia (WI) powered behind McHenry's extra-inning complete game effort with eight strikeouts. The Spartans' ace helped herself at the plate in that game going 2-3 and scored a run.

For the season, McHenry has a 2-3 record with five complete games and 23 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched. Her 1.24 earned run average is fourth among AMCC pitchers.

The next date for D'Youville is April 3 at St. John Fisher College. Doubleheader start time for the non-conference tilt is 3:00 p.m.
