Langer Named AMCC Player of the Week

Buffalo, NY - The D'Youville softball team began their season last Thursday in Clermont, FL as part of their annual spring training trip, and several players have enjoyed great starts to their seasons.

Of those player, freshman outfielder Jackie Langer (Wexford, PA/Pine Richland) has been one of the best and has been named AMCC Player of the Week. Jackie began her week by going 2-3 with two runs scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases in her first career game - which was a 7-6 win over Juniata.

The following day against St. Lawrence, Langer again had a big day. She went 3-4 at the plate with two runs scored, three RBI and she hit her first career home run. In six games last week, Jackie scored six runs with two multi-hit games and stole at least one base in four games.

Through her first week as a Spartan, Jackie leads the team in RBI (5), home runs (1), and stolen bases (5) while she is second in hits (7) and batting average (.500).

Prior to D'Youville, Jackie played club softball for the Pittsburgh Power and the Steel City Select. She is an Occupational Therapy major.
