Two Spartans Make Softball All-Tournament Team

Buffalo, NY - Following the conclusion of the AMCC Softball Tournament Championship, two starting outfielders for the D'Youville softball team were named AMCC All-Tournament Team players.

Sophomore left fielder Ashley Carney (Clarence, NY/Clarence) and freshman center fielder Jackie Langer (Wexford, PA/Pine Richland) were named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team, announced the conference following the conclusion of the championship.

Carney was solid in the field throughout the weekend, recording four putouts. She was a force at the top of the lineup for the Spartans throughout the season and was a major piece of the team that reached the AMCC softball tournament after a one year hiatus.

As for Langer, the freshman went 1-5 with a run scored, a stolen base and two putouts in center field. Jackie was at the heart of the team's lineup throughout the season and put up monster numbers in her freshman campaign.

In game one of the tournament on Friday, May 4, the women fell 6-2 against the Penn State-Altoona Lions. The women then ended their championship run with an 8-0 loss against Medaille the following day. The women were the fourth seed in the tournament.
