Clermont, FL – The D'Youville softball team played two extremely competitive games on Monday morning as they suffered a 5-4 defeat to the St. Lawrence Saints and a 5-3 loss to the Maine Farmington Beavers 5-3.

In the bottom of the fifth, Darian Evans (Brant, NY/Lake Shore) singled up the middle with one out and was pinch run for by Therese Losardo (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) after Alexa Haberer (Derby, NY/Lake Shore). Megan Meyer (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) would then single two batters later, scoring Goodrich to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead.
Maine Farmington answered in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at two, but the Spartans came right back in the second. With two outs, Russo would single to drive in Belkota and give D'Youville the lead back at 3-2.
The Spartans would hold the lead until the fourth inning when the Beavers scored a pair to take the lead by one. They then added another run in the fifth and held off D'Youville to win the game 5-3.
