Erie, PA - The 2019 season ended on Saturday afternoon for the D'Youville softball team with two players making the all-tournament team for their postseason performances.
Junior outfielder Ashley Carney (Clarence, NY/Clarence) and sophomore pitcher Alexa Haberere (Derby, NY/Lake Shore) were named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team for their performances in the team's three playoff games. Each played in the three games with the women falling 2-1 on Friday to Franciscan, coming back to defeat Pitt.-Bradford 6-4 in extra innings in game one on Saturday and losing 2-1 in extras against Penn State-Behrend in game two.
Carney went 1-3 with a double and scored the lone run in the team's loss to Franciscan Friday. She then followed up with a 2-5 performance - including a double - against Pitt.-Bradford in the win Saturday. In the field, Ashley committed no errors and recorded four putouts.
Haberer started game one of the playoffs against the Barons, going 6.0 innings and struck out four in the loss. She then came back to get the victory over the Panthers on Saturday as she went 6.2 innings with one earned run allowed and two strikeouts.
At the plate, Alexa tallied a hit and an RBI against Franciscan and Bradford. She scored the lone run for the Spartans in the loss to Penn State-Behrend.
