Buffalo, NY - Junior pitcher Alexa Haberer (Derby, NY/Lake Shore) has been dominant to start the season, helping the D'Youville softball team out to a 4-0 start and earning herself Allegheny Mountain College Conference (AMCC) Pitcher of the Week honors.
Haberer began the season opener against UMass.-Dartmouth on Saturday, Haberer pitched at 7.0 inning complete game, allowing just four hits and no runs while striking out seven in the 5-0 win. In the next game on Saturday against Geneva, Haberer's impact came at the plate where she went 2-4 with two RBI in the 3-2 win over the Golden Tornadoes.
On Sunday, Haberer again took the circle pitched a 7.0 inning complete game in the 10-3 win over St. Scholastica. At the plate she again came up big, going 1-4 with a run scored and two RBI. In the team's 7-6 walkoff win against Dominican in game two on Sunday, Haberer walked twice in two plate appearances.
Alexis is currently tied for first in wins (2) and complete games (2), second in strikeouts (15), and fifth in ERA (1.00), and tied for fourth in innings pitched (14.0).
As a sophomore in 2019, Lex led team in appearances (27), starts (22), wins (9), complete games (17), innings pitched (140.2), strikeouts (94), and ERA (3.83). She played in 32 games and was irst is RBIs (21), tied for second in doubles (5), tied for fourth in triples (2), and fifth in batting average (.310). With an outstanding series of performances in the playoffs, she was named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team.
