Title: Assistant Softball Coach

Shannon Evans enters her fifth season as an assistant coach for the Spartans following her four-year playing career for D'Youville.

Evans has been part of a very successful program for the past eight seasons as a player and coach. She began her in career 2011, playing all 31 games at catcher and won the 2011 AMCC Championship and advanced to the program's first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. She was awarded the team's Most Improved Player award after batting .303 with nine RBI and eight stolen bases.

She then played 11 games in 2012, followed by 35 games in 2013 as a junior. She had two home runs with 13 RBI and 17 runs scored her junior season and won the team's Spartan Award.

As a senior in 2014, Shannon collected a career high 17 RBI with 22 hits, 10 runs scored, five doubles, and one home run. In each of her four years, Evans was named an AMCC Academic All-Conference student-athlete.

As a coach, Evans helped lead the team to back-to-back AMCC regular season titles and AMCC Championship game appearances in 2015 and 2016. After missing the playoffs in 2017, the team returned to the postseason in 2018 as the fourth overall seed.
