Korona Closes Out Career with AMCC Second Team All-Conference Selection

Buffalo, NY - Senior Jean-Ann Korona (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) of the D'Youville women's basketball team concluded her four-year Spartan career by being named an AMCC Second Team All-Conference selection, announced the conference Tuesday.

Jean-Ann finished the year with the best statistical season of her Spartan tenure. At seasons end, Korona finished sixth in the AMCC in scoring at 16.7 PPG and was fifth in rebounding with 8.2 RPG. She also added 1.0 BPG, eighth in the conference.

On the D'Youville roster, Jean-Ann led the team in scoring and rebounding, FG% (39.4%), FT% (80.4%). She was second in APG (2.3), BPG (1.0) and SPG (2.2). Over the course of the season, Jean-Ann recorded 22 double-digit scoring games, nine 20-plus scoring games, seven double-digit rebounding games and six double-doubles.

She added 11 games of three or more assists, as well as 13 games of two or more steals. Korona scored a season high of 26 twice and had a season high of 18 rebounds. Over the 24, Korona started each of them. She was an AMCC Player of the Week selection twice during the 2016-17 season.

As a junior in 2015-16, Jean-Ann was an AMCC Third Team All-Conference selection. She recorded a team high seven double-doubles, was second in scoring and led the team in rebounding. 

In her senior season, Korona was outstanding. She averaged career highs in PPG, MPG, FG%, FT%, RPG, APG and SPG. On her way to her career season, Jean-Ann eclipsed the 1,000 scoring plateau, becoming the ninth player in program history to do so. She ended her career fifth all-time in scoring and third all-time in rebounding.
