Buffalo, NY – Dan Glover, head coach of the D'Youville women's basketball team, has been appointed to represent the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) as the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Conference Captain.
"It's such a privilege to be AMCC Conference Captain for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association," said Glover. "I'm honored and excited to be a representative and voice for D'Youville and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. I am looking forward to being a voice and taking part in conversations and meetings that will aid in the growth of our game."
Glover will have several duties as a conference captain for the AMCC. Of those duties, he will have to represent the AMCC on regularly scheduled conference calls and at the WBCA Convention at the NCAA women's basketball Final Four. In addition, Glover will represent the conference if there should be any urgent developments in Division III women's basketball as well as distributing any key information and communicating with the other coaches in the conference.
The WBCA was established in 1981 and represents all levels of women's basketball coaching, including high school and all three divisions of the NCAA. Beginning in 2014, the WBCA has established a four-year strategic plan with five goals – Stewardship, Education, Advocacy, Membership and Funding. As part of their mission, the WBCA works to be an established source of education and development for coaches.
Coach Glover is in his sixth season as the head coach for the women's basketball team. He led his team to the AMCC playoffs in 2013-14 and 2015-16 and has coached four all-conference players during his tenure.
