Buffalo, NY - Near the top of the AMCC, the D'Youville women's basketball team has earned their second consecutive AMCC Game of the Week as they play at Penn State-Altoona this Saturday.

D'Youville has been one of the top teams in the AMCC throughout their first four games this season. The Spartans began the conference schedule by knocking off the reigning conference champs, the Hilbert Hawks, with a 13-point win on the road. The women then tallied their second double-digit conference victory of the season over Alfred State 65-50, and then took on Penn State-Behrend and won the AMCC Game of the Week 68-59. In their only loss, the women loss by just seven points to the Pitt.-Greensburg Bobcats on the road.

The youth of the Spartans has been their driving force this season. The top four scorers for the women are all freshmen or sophomores. Danielle Hore (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) continues to be the leader of the young Spartan squad as she leads the team with 12.2 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 4.8 APG, and is second with 1.7 SPG. Freshman Haley Kirisits (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) has been huge for the women at both ends of the court as she is second on the team with 6.3 RPG, is third with 8.9 PPG, has been named AMCC Player of the Week once and has tallied two double-doubles this season.

Fellow freshman Elizabeth Bradley (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) has been a big-time scoring option for the women, averaging 10.4. As for the upperclassmen, Sydney Alton (Hannibal, NY/Hannibal) has been outstanding as of late as she is coming off her first career double-double.

Altoona also stands at 3-1 in the conference as they are in a three-way tie for second place in the AMCC with Hilbert, Penn State-Behrend, and D'Youville. The 296 points scored by the Lions are the most by any team in conference play this season while their 245 points allowed are second most. Four Lions all average double-figures with one averaging a near double-double, collecting 9.3 RPG.

In their first meeting last season, the Spartans fell to the Lions by two at home. Altoona would then take the second meeting as well later in the season.
