Dan Glover recently concluded his seventh season in charge of the D'Youville women's basketball team.

D'Youville doubled their win total from 2017-18 to 2018-19. Led by a strong senior class and standout freshman Danielle Hore, the women were in playoff contention throughout the season with several key wins. Hore was one of the best all-around players in the conference as she ranked top five in scoring, rebounding, steals, and assists as a point guard and was named an AMCC Second Team All-Conference player and AMCC Newcomer of the Year.

In 2016-17, the women got out to a hot start after winning three of their four games. By the end of the year, the team had an all-conference player as senior Jean-Ann Korona was an AMCC Second Team All-Conference selection. As one of the best students-athletes at D'Youville, Korona finished with the honor of D'Youville Female Athlete of the Year. In addition, women's basketball captain Ali Cochrane was named AMCC Woman of the Year for her outstanding work in the classroom, in the community, on the court, and due to her contributions to D'Youville.

Glover led the Spartans to a breakout season in 2015-16, compiling a 13-14 overall record, 9-9 in AMCC play.  The Spartans began the year with a stretch of up and down games, beginning the season 3-9.  The tides would turn as the team would go on to defeat Pitt-Greensburg at home, sparking one of the best runs in program history. The Spartans went on to win 8 out of 9, including an 83-77 home victory against Mount Aloysius in the AMCC Championship Tournament Quarterfinals and earning the programs first trip to an AMCC Semi-Final. The team had three individuals receive post season awards. Senior Danette Laguerre was named to the AMCC All-Tournament team, while fellow senior Alexis Smith and Junior Jean-Ann Korona were named AMCC All-Conference 3rd Team selections. Seniors Shannon Dougherty, Alexis Smith, and Danette Laguerre graduated from the program with their mark in the school record books in several categories.  Laguerre ranked first all-time in career steals, Dougherty and Smith both joined the 1,000 career point club in their final seasons, while Smith finished out the season ranked first all-time in career points.

In the programs 3rd year under Glovers guidance, the Spartans took off running in the opening portion of the season. They began by winning the Oswego State Max Ziel Tip-off Tournament, the Spartans used that momentum to stretch their win streak to 4-0. The best start the program had ever seen. D’Youville headed into the Christmas break with a record of 7-1 with a big win over Hilbert College before break. The Spartans season was also highlighted with a mid-season victory over rival Medaille College. The women’s basketball team finished the 2014-2015 season 10-14, posting back to back 10+ win seasons. Senior Bridget Andrews graduated from the program joining the elite group of players in the 1,000 point club.

During his second season at D'Youville, Coach Glover led the Spartans to their first AMCC post-season appearance, their first post-season appearance since 2008. The Spartans finished the 2013-14 season 11-15 and 9-9 in AMCC play, improving on the previous season's record by four wins. When post season awards were announced, D’Youville Junior Shannon Dougherty found herself named to the AMCC All-Conference 3rd Team.

Under Coach Glover's direction, the Spartans opened the new era of D’Youville basketball on November 16, 2012 with a 57-50 win over SUNY Cobleskill at the Oswego St. Tournament making Glover the first women's basketball coach at D'Youville (in the modern era) to win their debut game on the bench. The new Spartan's coach continued making it a season of firsts, winning his opening AMCC game with a 73-50 win at Hilbert College. The Spartans finished the season 7-18, only one spot short of playoff berth. Freshman standout, Alexis Smith broke multiple records including most points scored by a freshman in a single game, followed by most points scored by any player in a single game. Smith was named AMCC Conference Newcomer of the year and was selected AMCC All-Conference 2nd Team.

In addition to his role as basketball coach, Glover also serves as the Assistant Golf Coach, Assistant Director of Athletics, and Dobson Field Operations Coordinator. Coach Glover also volunteers in the mentor program, which provides assistance and guidance to incoming freshman students to help them adjust to the transition into college.

Glover has been a Spartan since 2006. First as a student-athlete, then assistant coach, and now as a Head Coach and Athletic Administrator, after being named to lead the women's basketball program in August 2012.

A graduate of D'Youville and former player with the men's basketball program from 2006-2010, Glover served as an Assistant Coach and Director of Basketball Operations for the Spartan's men's program from 2010 - 2012. His efforts helped the Spartans to their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference post-season appearance in 2011-12.

In his playing career wearing the red and white, the six-foot one shooting guard played in 94 games and ranks among the program's all-time leaders in three-point field-goal percentage. Glover also received the team's Most Improved Player award after his sophomore season and the Spartan Award after his senior season. In his final home game as a player (February 13, 2010 versus Pitt-Greensburg), Glover set a new single game team record by making seven three-point baskets.

A two-time Academic All-Conference selection, Glover completed a dual degree at D'Youville, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Studies and Business Management. Glover went onto receive his Masters degree from California University of Pennsylvania in Sports Management with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration.

Hailing from Angola, NY, Glover is a graduate of Lake Shore High School and currently resides in South Buffalo.
