Erie, PA - The D'Youville women's bowling team wrapped up their first ever invitational on Sunday afternoon, taking fifth at the Grapevine Classic.
Ashley Len (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) had an outstanding weekend, finishing third overall out of 60 participants. Len finished with an average of 185.20 - .40 behind second place and 1.40 behind first place. The 185.20 average Len posted was the average of five games with her highest score coming in game four with a score of 214. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
Finishing second for the Spartans was Chloe Strong (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore West) with an average score of 165.20. Her average score led to a 13th place finish as Emily Williams (Colden, NY/Springville) came in 20th with an average score of 170.75.
Finishing back-to-back were Rebecca Weiss (Williamsville, NY/Mt. St. Mary Academy) and Allison Imiola (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) with average scores of 137.50 and 134.50 respectively. Rebecca Hennessy (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) came in with an average score of 127.33 and Emily Dick (Alden, NY/Alden) bowled a strong first match of the season.
The women will next compete on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3 at the Medaille Tournament.
