D'Youville Has Strong Pair of Races Heading into Final Race of Season

Rochester, NY - The D'Youville women's crew team completed the Head of the Genesee on Saturday morning, racing to one of their best times of the season.

With a time of 23:45, the varsity crew had a great time in one of their best races of the season. The women's varsity lineup was as follows:

Coxswain: Elaine Dersam (Alden, NY/Alden)

Bow: Danielle Connolly (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham)

Two: Bridget Degan (Buffalo, NY/Nardin)

Three: Carlie Pettit (Tonawanda, NY/Mt. St. Mary's Academy)

Stroke: Karly Dempsey (Niagara Falls, ON, CA/St. Paul)

The women also had their novice compete in their first ever race. They finished their 5k race with a time of 27:51. Their lineup was as follows:

Coxswain: Colleen Greaves (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home)

Bow: Kayla May (West Seneca, NY/Sacred Heart)

Two: Molly Schrack (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Catholic)

Three: Krysta Jedrysik (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) 

Stroke: Ashley Seyfried (Fairport, NY/Fairport)

Next Saturday, October 14 will be the final race of the fall season for the women. The race will be held at home at West Side Rowing Club at 9:00am for the Head of the Niagara.
