Buffalo, NY - Junior midfielder Jillian Golding (Lockport, NY/Lockport) of the D'Youville women's lacrosse team has been selected as the Independent Women's Lacrosse Schools (IWLS) Offensive Player of the Week for an outstanding week on the field.
Golding was the driving force behind the Spartan's offense last Wednesday against Alfred University. Tallying eight goals and three assists, Jillian set the single game program record for goals and points as the team set a program record with 14 goals. She added eight draw controls, three ground ball and three caused turnovers as well.
This season, Golding leads the team with 24 goals, 29 points, 19 grounds balls, 28 draw controls, 18 caused turnovers, 53 shots and 38 shots on goal and is tied for first with five assists. In all but one game that Jillian has played this season, she has led the team in goals.
The IWLS is made up of nine different independent women's lacrosse programs throughout the country. The teams include: Colorado College, Dean College, D'Youville College, Fransican University, Northland College, University of Northwestern-St. Paul, Southwestern University, State University of New York - Canton and the University of Dallas.
