Keuka, NY – The D'Youville women's lacrosse team lost to the undefeated Keuka Wolves on Saturday afternoon by the final score of 21-3.
Keuka came out strong in the first half. They built up a 10-0 lead through the first 15 minutes of the first, then adding three more goals to lead 13-0 at the half.
Trailing half way through the second, Tiffany Cristofanelli (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) scored for the team's first goal. Just over three minutes later, Marissa Markott (Sanborn, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) doubled the team's total. Margaret Merigold (Tonawanda, NY/Mt. St. Mary Academy) capped off the team's scoring in the game as the women would fall to the Wolves 21-3.
Cristofanelli led the team with three ground balls and five draw controls, adding a goal. Julia Prychodko (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora), Julie Fleming (Tonawanda, NY/Mt. St. Mary Academy), and Isabella Lucania (Webster, NY/Webster-Schroeder) each had two ground balls with Prychodko forcing a team high three turnovers. Megan Dulniak (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) made 13 saves in goal.
D'Youville will begin a three-game homestand beginning with their next game this Tuesday, April 16 against Alfred University beginning at 6:00pm.
